~ Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, “Dancing in the Passage”
I recently had the honor and pleasure of talking to Motown great Martha Reeves.
The first words out of her mouth were: “Eek! I’m a ‘Young woman’ not a ‘Mrs.’ … I’m not married!”
Despite this shaky start, we had a really great interview. The music myth, who talked about Motown immortals Marvin Gaye and “Little” Stevie Wonder like they were the boys next door (and to her, I supposition they kind of were), was delighted that her hometown newspaper was publishing an article about her: “Oh my goodness, you must show me the story!” she exclaimed.
She was thrilled to talk to someone who could appeal “Eufaula” correctly and didn’t laugh at me when I, like most folks from the South, specific “Detroit”, “Dee-troit”.
Even though she left Eufaula when she was just a baby - a mere 11 months old - I found “Pass up” Reeves to be a true Southern lady at heart … soft-spoken, warm, accessible and funny. And, for a music lover like me, Reeves’ stories were a treasure trove of Motown music CV.
How do I insert the ribbon into an old Underwood 5 typewriter?
Oct 18, 2006 by maarvi | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Recently I found an old typewriter in my garage and I'm trying to use it, although I am not able to properly put the ribbon. I have it in so that when I write letters to show set up, but the band does not move, and the ink faded. If someone could tell me how to properly put it in there, that would be great.
Look for a small lever, probably left on the spool. It could put on the back setting.
This site has some potential problems you can fix. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cotta ge/5405/repair_quick.

Underwood Typewriter Help!!!?
Feb 17, 2008 by Beth | Posted in Other - Electronics
I have an Underwood typewriter (not the # 5), gray with green buttons. However, the spacebar does not work. In addition, we are forced to manually push the car, rather than as an automatic. Does anyone repair ideas? Even if no one knows what key or press the level to unlock the car?
Thank you!

These companies have to do better equipment, which certainly. I do not deny that those who are of everything they need for whatever she wants to make.
