“Actions – Disposals – Transitions – Transformations” is the epithet of artist Tom O’Day’s recently published book of photos documenting the last 20 years of his antics.

His travail goes through transitions and transforms into new work. The objects are in a constant state of flux, reflecting the reality of our own changing lives, O’Day said.

As a tad, O’Day made models, painstakingly building them as they were meant to be and then he took them outside, shot them with a BB gun and blew them up with fireworks. Later, in outrageous school, O’Day focused on black and white photography. “I got hooked on making images,” he said.

He went on to meet a master’s degree in fine art from California State University at Northridge. In 1985, after living in a studio in downtown Los Angeles, O’Day moved to the Spokane precinct. He did odd jobs until he began teaching at Spokane Art School, curating shows, and running the kids’ programs. He also began working part era at Spokane Falls Community College. In 1998, he was hired full time. He runs the college’s art gallery and teaches outline technique, fundamentals, and composition, design and an experimental workshop that includes installation art.

fhotoace is absolutely right, what should the two lights, but they also place a polarizing filter on the lens to be sure. Softening the two lights will also help.

What is the difference, visually, (assuming they will be framed) between "art prints" and "posters"

This is for an apartment I share with my friend, we are planning to buy some art on the walls and place were asked whether the poster is making:
1) too sticky.
2) will look like this belongs in a dorm room as opposed to an apartment.

Prints are signed, limited edition prints on high quality paper.
Posters are mass-produced, unsigned, and a thinner grade paper.

I have a series of framed posters and art prints in my home, and believe me, they will not look tacky and dorm room-ish. The secret is a framework to choose one of the colors complement the print. The vintage prints and elegant look with a narrow wooden frame, and the more modern ones look great with painted metal frame.

Avoid buying these "prefab poster frame" and visit a frame shop instead.You can add custom colors to the frame and mount up to save $ $ $.
