Kindle e-book format hacked, further evidence that DRM is a waste of time
23.12.09
@fighttheman: Thanks for commenting, sir, but your analogy isn't certainly accurate. If you want to compare speeding laws with DRM, it would be more along the lines of this:
Manufacturers would build cars with a system that automatically throttles the motor so the car stays within posted speed limits. Hacking it would constitute defeating the system, allowing drivers to exceed the limit in the rare occurrences when that might be required -- just like cars work (and should work) now. Of course, most drivers are honest and reasonable, obeying put one's foot down limits most of the time.
Sure, there are occasions when drivers don't obey the limits with no reasonable reason, and they should be stopped and punished. (I never said unauthorized copying is OK, just that DRM does more to harm law-abiding people than prevent piracy.)
Of course, the analogy isn't proficient, since safety isn't really an issue with DRM, and generally exceeding the speed limit is almost always illegal, whereas there are certainly legal reasons you would necessitate to copy something. But the point that it's an inefficient, inconvenient and unnecessary system shines through.

I want to buy a new USB cable for it but I'm having trouble Localization book. Who the exact nature of the cable, the device uses and / or where the cable can be purchased? I would also like to know if someone knows of no way for the device to connect their service to connect to a digital telephone line that most people have nowadays. The device manual says it can only be an analog phone line.
The cable you need is a USB to mini-USB Type B, 4-pin cable.
The eBookwise 1150 reader has an internal v34 33.6 Kbps modem. Connect it to an analog phone line to use the Internet.

It is, however, that many faithful and many, many people skim ebooks et al on their BlackBerry and iPhone / iTouch. It is my impression that most people do not required a pony technology gubbins. They implement a multi-function call. Why? Because * I * need a multifunction device, and all are like me, quickly?

This is my new ebook reader. I nothing but got it a few weeks ago. It is a lot better than I thought it would be after reading a number of discouraging reviews. But I am very happy with it. Although I could use a 64mb well-educated media memory card so I could hold more than a few books.
