Last August, I asked Marv Levy, the Entry-way of Fame coach and an animal rights activist, if he thought Roger Goodell was right in reinstating Michael Vick after 18 months in poky on dogfighting charges. His answer was a quick "yes.'' Now Vick has won the Eagles' version of the Ed Block Boldness award, voted by each team to the player who exemplifies the principles of sportsmanship and courage. A lot of people wonder why, acknowledged Vick's history. PETA -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- called it "not germane.'' With all due respect to PETA, it's none of their business. Vick served his time -- more than he would have as a run-of-the-mill dogfighter because he is a famous athlete and PETA loudly made an eg of him. I'm certainly not defending what he did -- I've been a dog owner for a long time, hate dogfighting and hate the fact that among his other transgressions was the ruinous of dogs. But I also believe that people change. And just the fact that Vick's Philadelphia teammates would vote him this grant tells me that he has won their acceptance. If that sounds like a no-brainer, consider that a senior executive with the Falcons told me a while back that Vick was a loner in Atlanta with few make inaccessible friends on the team and less loyalty than players on most NFL teams give to their star quarterback. Maybe this is bad public relations. Peradventure his teammates didn't consider the ramifications of choosing Vick -- they aren't in the PR business. But given what I recognize about his relationships in Atlanta, it tells me that Vick has changed to the extent that his teammates now respect him. It tells me that maybe his labour for the Humane Society is sincere and not just another way to please Goodell and the NFL. It also tells me it's time for PETA to butt out. The Vick case has given them more publicity than they've ever had -- I reminiscences they piled on outrageously when Vick's crimes first became public. Other animal rights groups, while firm, were far less anxious to tell on themselves every time anyone dared to speak about Vick in other than negative terms. So let him enjoy this award. It's another step toward him rebuilding his existence.
Why does Roger Goodell obsess over player behavior when the NFL actively markets a murderer named Ray Lewis?

Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy? A player or collect ten's sake received from DUIs Stack, suggested that the domestic violence stuff up the girlfriend, etc., and Goodell has put the hammer down, but after a jury let OJ Quality Killer Ray go, the NFL has it right back in business marketing and kissed him back.
You are not Ray Lewis was never convicted of murder. But I do not agree with ur point.

Commishoner Goodell paved a path for the Giants throughout the playoffs?
Jun 06, 2008 by Darth Maximus Macleoud | Posted in Football (American)
The Giants had the fewest penalties of each team, Goodell had something to do by the referees to call penalties against the Giants opponents wrong, especially the Cowboys. Goodell made it easy for the Giants, which is why the Giants are idiots, they are not Champs, NE, and pets are Cheaters! For this reason, the SB 42 "TOILETBOWL"!
No matter what anyone says about the Cowboys went 13 / 3 and that a good team. But they look no worse than the mighty pats, the roots 15 / 1 I for the Giants in the Super Bowl win, like most cowboys fans, was done. But in my heart I've always thought it was a fluke. It was like the old saying, they are at the door (PAT) and beat her in her face. For whatever had walked the Superbowl wanted to shut the door. We all pay the bill and it was the payday Pats. The Giants are ready, it was her hey day for some time. As far as Goodell, I would not trust him as far as far as I could throw him.And get as far as the statements about the about her. Hell Dallas does nothing, got someone on. So, now, because Ask a Super Bowl, which no one can believe have won, they want to speak to the trash. Now you can see how much trash talk is spoken at the end of next season. There is much whining about how the referees. exclaims Bad! And now with the eagles and skins!
