plasma tv?
Jun 04, 2008 by keltic1one | Posted in TVs
I am planning to buy a Vizio plasma TV and I do not have HD cable. Will my picture look like crap or will it look like a regular TV? will my x box 360 mess up the plasma TV to play or not?
60,000 hr screen life is good? 30,000 to 1 ratio good? 1024x720 is good? I know nothing about these # 's so please explain.
Hi - I am not a gambler and to be critical, but your first mistake is to buy a Vizio.
Yes, I know they are cheap. But there's a reason why. I use to work in the trade industry up until the last year and I have personally dealt with Vizio (from the American company offices in Irvine, California and around the City of Industry, near Los Angeles).
Gaming will make you look less than great, because you play ona substandard television is known that within 6 months does not (I went back to the camp Vizio - all 3 of them - in City of Industry, and saw 60-foot stack of TVs there, All returning from Costco).
Do not buy a Vizio. Yes, I mean really, they are less expensive, but go with a 1080P Samsung, LG or Sony. You are gaming will experience is superior. They all have "gaming" modes, there are on TV to ensure a smooth pixel translations from a PS3 or Xbox (not the Wii - Wii is the old school, so that will not make a big difference).
What is messing up the tv - unless you happen to play one night and leave it on the menu screen for hours on end, you can end up with screen burn.
But no, should be playing games on a LCD or plasma did not mess it up

How much more energy does a Plasma TV consumer compared to a LCD TV?
May 22, 2009 by Harish | Posted in TVs
How much energy a plasma TV to a LCD TV in comparison? Everyone says that plasma consumes more energy than an LCD, but by how much? Twice as much as an LCD? Newer versions of plasmas are now "Certified Energy", it is still called the consumer more power than LCD, but do not take a whole lot to the traditional CRT TV in comparison?
Traditional CRT and "old" plasmas are energy hogs. But what does that really mean in the end make sense? Even with a bad result sets from these guys, you only costs like $ 40 a year more than an LCD. And this is like the worst case. Even a so-so set, and you have), perhaps only $ 20 difference (per year. So it's not really a big deal.
As already mentioned, there are now, plasma sets that are Energy Star products. You can compete with LCDs in terms of power consumption. Covered most of the latest models of good brands under this category (Panasonic, Samsung).
But keep the technology only stereotypes so true, nevertheless. Plasma or LCD screen is not really important. Specific model number is most important. Not all models, either existing technology are razed. There are LCDs, the power hogs.
