RYE — In the 20 years Pam Sheerin has been teaching others the art of sewing, she has taught countless people a enumeration of simple-sewing techniques such as the ability to craft quilts or mend worn-out clothes.
Since 2004, she has been using those skills in peerless a local effort to create better lives for children in war-torn Afghanistan.
Dubbed "Sew, Sew, Sew for Our Soldiers" by Sheerin, the deed is focused on crafting tote bags that will be filled with new school supplies to be sent to children in Afghanistan. Ranging in both stratagem and color, the bags are crafted for both boys and girls.
"By being educated," said Sheerin, "children, no matter the mountains they're from, can bring about true change and help to bring peace. This program is helping to ensure the gift of understanding is available to all children."
All of the materials used in creating the bags are donated save for the handle straps, which tariff approximately $1 each. Donations are received not only from generous citizens but from retailers such as the Exeter Handkerchief Factory, which donated more than $300 importance of material to the effort.

Do you have a Michael or Joan substance or AC Moore around you? Personally, I like AC Moore at best. Small art supply stores are harder to find.
If he prefer to be happy, he has tried water color pencils? They are really nicely made, and a little bit different. Most of it is made of metal, but Discount School Supply sells a safer type of plastic. I would not give to children under three years, and you must monitor the elders.
